He finished the competition as the third-highest run-getter, only falling short of his opening partner Mayank Agarwal (341) and Riyan Parag (354) runs. His 123.90 strike rate was also the second-best in the competition among players who scored more over 200 runs, after only Parag.
Returning to his time with Delhi Capitals, Kunnumal, 25, expressed his happiness at being mentored by former famous cricketers Sourav Ganguly and Pravin Amre. He believes this will advance his career significantly. The training camp for the Delhi Capitals has been excellent. He said that he had the opportunity to speak with Sourav Ganguly and Praveen Amre here. They have been really supportive and have assisted him at nets with a few technological issues. He is hoping that this will have a beneficial impact on his career in the days to come, Rohan said in a statement to PTI.

Delhi Capitals concluded IPL 2023 in ninth place with 10 points after picking up 5 victories in 14 games. The Delhi Capitals experienced a significant setback even before the season officially started. Due to the severe accident their full-time captain Rishabh Pant sustained in December of last year, he was forced to sit out the entire season. The IPL 2023 season for Delhi was forgettable under new captain David Warner. For the majority of the game, their batting order failed them.
Delhi finished the season in ninth position overall. Out of the 14 league games, they could only manage to win five of them. The only batter that had a big game for the Delhi Capitals was captain David Warner. He ended up scoring large runs for the Capitals the majority of the time and did not receive the necessary assistance from the other end.
