Shane Warne was playing his last IPL season with the Rajasthan Royals in 2011, and famous for his controversial nature, he got engaged in yet another one. Warne had a spat with Rajasthan Cricket Board (RCA) secretary, where he publically called him a ‘liar’. The exact details of the spat are not known, but the thing was not taken lightly by the board.

Sanjay Dixit was IPL’s secretary at that time, and he was furious over the incident. The board wanted a fine for the leg-spinner, but he was just fined for the same. IPL’s Disciplinary Procedure Commission issued a heavy fine of $50,000 to Warne. This allowed Warne to play his last matches for the franchise.

It was said that Warne apologized to Sanjay Dixit, and considering the image of Warne, he was not banned. However, he was strongly warned that one more mistake will be costly for him. If Warne would have been fined for one game, Warne would not have played his farewell game with the Royals against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium.
